Blue Marsh
The Bog-Mother swallows shields, the Pip Siphon blinds from willows, and the Muck Bullock flattens the crossing.
Azure Fen covers a sunken basin of stagnant blue marsh water and willow roots. Thick peat islands float over deep mud channels that swallow pack beasts to the neck. The air hangs warm and heavy with the scent of rotting duckweed and sweet swamp gas.
Three amphibious predators keep the water gate. The Azure Bog-Mother rests across the central pool, draped in wet blue fur. Clinging to the willow branches above, the Pip Siphon spits caustic bile into passing eyes. Guarding the muddy crossings, the Muck Bullock knocks travelers off peat bridges with heavy belly-flops.
The pack hunts by pulling travelers into deep peat where heavy gear turns deadly. The Pip Siphon strikes first from the willows. When a blinded traveler stumbles into the water, the Muck Bullock launches off the bank.
If rescuers wade in, the Azure Bog-Mother surges from the lily beds. The toads do not chase prey into dry upland woods. They guard the stagnant channel and let deep swamp water drown resistance.
Example encounter
1. Put the Pip Siphon in the willows, the Muck Bullock at the peat crossing, and the Azure Bog-Mother in the central pool.
2. On the Pip Siphon's first spotlight, attack from Hidden with Slime Spit using Caustic Bile.
3. On a hit the target takes damage, marks 1 Stress, and is Vulnerable until their next turn ends.
4. Spotlight the Muck Bullock to Muck Slam that target and force an Agility Reaction Roll (15).
5. On a failure the target is knocked prone and Vulnerable until they stand.
6. If a fighter wades in, spend a Fear on Swallow Whole with Tongue Lash.
7. While swallowed they take 2d8 acid at the start of each GM turn until an ally deals Major damage to the Bog-Mother in one hit.
8. If an ally in the pack takes damage within Far range, spend a Fear on Bellow of the Fen.
